Our “Silly Faces” Books are one of the most fun class books we make. Here’s how to make them:

Instructions:
- Take pictures of your students. Try to fill the frame with their whole face, or crop the photo to maximize the face.

- Print the pictures.
- Laminate the pictures. *Hint: It works best if you leave about 1.5″ of lamination to the left of the student pictures when you cut them out. This is because if you don’t do this and trim the lamination close to the pictures, the binding can get in the way of the glasses when you add them to the book. Adding this extra margin solves this problem.
- Measure the width of the printed faces. (If you filled the majority of the photo frame with the students’ faces, all of the faces should be around the same width).
- Do an image search online for glasses and sunglasses pictures. Resize these images so they are around the same width as the students’ faces. Print out onto white index paper.

6. Cut out the glasses frames. For non-sunglasses, cut out the insides of the frames. You may need to cut through the frame to easily cut out the middles. You can then add a tiny piece of tape to the frames before you laminate them.
7. Laminate frames with heavy laminating film.

8. For moustaches, you can either buy moustache stickers or search for moustache pictures online.

9. If using stickers, put the stickers onto index paper; cut them out.

10. To make the glasses and moustaches sticky, then them face down.

11. Use Aleene’s Tack-it-Over-and-over again glue to add small dots of glue around the picture frames and on the moustaches.

12. Let the glue dots dry.
13. Laminate an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of index paper.
14. Stack the student photos together and align them with the left side of the laminated page. Bind together.
